Academic Support Services

Southern Union provides a range of academic support services designed to help students strengthen learning strategies, improve academic performance, and successfully progress toward their educational goals.

Tutoring Services
Tutoring is available to currently enrolled students at no cost. Writing coaches and math tutors are available through face-to-face and virtual appointments. Additional tutoring support in subjects such as science, business, social sciences, computer science, and other academic areas may be available through the college’s online tutoring platform, accessible via Tutor.com and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Academic Skill Building
Students have access to academic skill-building resources that support college success, including strategies for effective studying, time management, test preparation, and goal setting. These resources may be provided through workshops, online learning materials, and individual academic support sessions.

Academic Support Location and Resources
Academic support services on the Opelika campus are located in the Student Success Center, Business Technology Center, Room 110. The center provides study space, computer access, and academic resources to support student learning.
