Program Overview
The Southern Union State Community College (SUSCC) Academic Internship Program provides field-of-study-related work experience for students who are pursuing a degree and/or certificates in one of the approved programs of study and establishes and strengthens the relationship between the Company and the College in order to ensure mutual reinforcement between college curricula and the world of work. The program is an educational opportunity based upon a cooperative arrangement by the college and employers to provide practical work experiences for students.
Program Objectives
- To provide qualified SUSCC students with supervised, work-based learning experiences through on-the-job work related to their field of study before graduation.
- To make available occupational experiences designed to assist interns in determining the professional fields for which they may be suited and identifying personal and professional areas of strength and opportunities for growth.
- To provide a no-obligation recruiting line of talent to the Company.
- To provide an avenue for the Company to express workforce needs and feedback regarding education and workforce alignment.
